  • 1 Manufacturers have made great efforts on quality and reliability, but semiconductor power devices used in solid state relays, if selected or used improperly, can still lead to irreparable damage. In addition, due to power grid voltage fluctuations (usually 10%) and differences in inductive and tolerance resistance, a safety factor must be considered. For example: the long-term working current of electric heating should not exceed 60% of the rated nominal SSR current, and the working current of motors should not exceed 1/7 of the rated nominal SSR current.
  • 2 For long-term working currents above 5A, a matching radiator must be installed, and the temperature of the radiator bottom plate must not exceed 80°C. If the ambient temperature is too high, forced air cooling must be adopted to accelerate air flow for better heat dissipation.
  • 3 To ensure close contact between the solid state relay and the radiator surface for optimal heat dissipation, a special thermal conductive film or grease is recommended based on different current levels. During installation, place the thermal conductive film parallel between the bottom plate of the solid state relay and the contact surface of the radiator and tighten the installation screws; for thermal conductive grease, apply it evenly on the contact surfaces before fastening the screws.
  • 4 When fastening the module to the radiator surface, use M4 screws and spring washers, and tighten with 4-6 Nm torque. After 3 hours of operation, retighten once using the same torque.
  • 5 The recommended tightening torque of M4 screws at the control end is 0.8-1 Nm, and M5 screws at the load end is 1.9-2.1 Nm.
  • 6 Storage of the solid state relay should be moisture-proof, avoid rain, dropping, and violent collision. It should be stored in a ventilated, dry, non-corrosive gas environment, with ambient humidity kept below 80%.
